Tea

“My dear fellow, have we met?”

I don’t think so- I do regret.

Well never mind, let’s have some tea!

I’ll get to know you; and you me.

He’s died, he’s gone-my dear pet!

A sad mishap- I do regret.

Well never mind, let’s have some tea!

There’s another pet shop you must see.

I can’t believe I lost the bet!

I was sure I’d win- I do regret.

Well never mind let’s have some tea!

“Oh yes please do,” she said with glee.

I’ve told you I’m not ready yet!

Take back that ring- I do regret.

Well never mind, let’s have some tea!

He said, and rose from bended knee.

An awful day, rainy and wet

Cannot go out- I do regret.

Well never mind, let’s have some tea!

We’ll save another day for the sea.

In every circumstance, good or not

The English turn to the teapot

The cure to everything, the remedy;

The magic phrase: Let’s have some tea!
