Mother

She took me by the hand and plunged me into a world of light

Into the darkest depths of seas, where pearls shone bright

The twinkles of delights.

She handed me the stars and showed me how to shine

If only I would keep in line, in time

The whole world would be mine.

But I thought I’d explore

And went to shore

And what I saw was more.

They battled on the surface, while I had learned to dive

The world felt more alive...

And suddenly it didn’t matter

My world began to shatter

I let the stars escape;

I gave them back to fate

And stepped out of the semiotic waters.
