Contradictions

I am an environmentalist:

I am an artist without canvas or paint
I am a carpenter without wood
I am a film maker without a camera
I am a fashion model without a designer dress
I am a writer without a pen
I have been forced to recreate myself.

Environmental awareness presents the problem of material limitation.
In placing my concerns for the environment first I am disabled to act as I am.

I am asked to act with measured grace and maturity. I am the mother of the earth and the earth is a child that will never grow up.
